Princeton Start-up Immersion Program in Bengaluru, India: A Joint initiative of the Chadha Center for Global India with the Keller Center for Innovation in Engineering Education

Princeton University’s Chadha Center for Global India is partnering with the Keller Center for Innovation in Engineering Education to launch the inaugural Princeton Startup Immersion Program (PSIP) in Bengaluru, India in 2023. PSIP is an immersive summer program for talented Princeton students seeking real-world experience at emergent startups around the world. According to a 2022 report, India has the third-largest startup ecosystem globally, with over 60,000 startups nationwide. As of April 2022, India is home to as many as 65 unicorns across many industries, with funding from major foreign investors. Bengaluru is often referred to as the Silicon Valley of India and has ranked fifth in the world for tech venture capitalist investment; 22nd overall in the global startup ecosystem. Starting in Summer 2023 PSIP-Bengaluru will take Princeton students to intern in exciting startups in Bengaluru.

Since 2016, the Keller Center has offered PSIP programs in locations including New York City, Tel Aviv, Israel and Shanghai, China. More than 330 undergraduate and graduate Princeton students of all academic majors have experienced impactful internships with 85 startup companies in these entrepreneurship hubs. In the summer of 2023 in partnership with the M.S. Chadha Center for Global India, PSIP- Bengaluru will bring a cohort of five talented Princeton students to intern with three exciting early-stage startup companies in India over a 10-week period.

In addition to interning at the companies, PSIP-Bengaluru is hosting weekly speaker series featuring leading founders, entrepreneurs and venture capitalists in the region and sponsors outings to exciting cultural and historical destinations in the host country.
