The panelists will look at the intersection between climate and environmental justice in India and the United States.

Panelists:

Navroz K Dubash is a Professor at the Centre for Policy Research, a New Delhi-based think-tank, and an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.  He has been actively engaged in global and national debates on climate change, air quality, energy, and water as a researcher, policy advisor, and activist for over 25 years.

Dr. Manju Menon is a Senior Fellow at the Center for Policy Research, where she undertakes research, writing, and community projects on environmental justice and the politics of resource rights. She has engaged with India’s environmental laws and policies for over two decades.\

Dr. Jessica Seddon is the global lead for air quality at the World Resources Institute (WRI), a Senior Fellow at the Jackson Institute for Public Policy, Yale University, and an adjunct fellow (non-resident) with the Wadhwani Chair in U.S.-India Policy Studies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Her own work focuses on the way that new sources of information and environmental awareness can be leveraged to motivate and guide cost-effective strategies for reducing polluting emissions and achieving clean air for all. 

Moderator:

The event will be moderated by Anu Ramaswami, Sanjay Swani ‘87 Professor of India Studies and Director of the M.S. Chadha Center for Global India; Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the High Meadows Environmental Institute. Her research focuses on urban science and policies for creating sustainable and equitable cities.
